Bodyscope Anatomical Chart 20” x 16” in Original Protective Sleeve
This is a lovely presentation opening to 32” across, hinged in the middle with male figure on left and female on right. Each board is a sandwich containing a large rotating disc which when rotated brings illustrations and text into view through apertures on both sides, giving four sides of moveable displays.
The colours are fresh, the format, were it not for the hairstyles of the figure, would indicate a date of about 1890 even to the artistic fig leaf on the male. It was, however, published in 1935. At the top of each side there is a moral pronouncement, one of which is shown in one of the photographs. There is a small (1/2”) split in each board next to the opening for the edge of the rotating disc but unless pointed out would easily escape notice.
A fine anatomical display and a revealing glimpse at the values of another time. |
